GMRS Repeater
My plans are to have the GMRS up and going this week Aug. 15th, 2020
It will be located on the top side of a tower in Elkhart. This GMRS repeater will have roughly a 40 or more mile footprint locally.
The repeater also has the ability to link statewide into other GMRS repeaters via VOIP and outside of the state.
At this time I’ll be the only one with the ability to activate these settings, so you may find the repeater running local or linked.
The way you can tell between the two is when there’s one courtesy tone after a transmission it’s set to local only. When it has a multiple courtesy tone after transmission it’s linked with other repeaters.
As I do have personal guidelines along with FCC guidelines for the usage of the amateur repeaters, I would like the same to be true for GMRS.
It has taken a lot of effort and investment to make this happen so please treat the repeater itself along with people on it with respect.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
